UN refocuses Haiti mission
UNITED NATIONS (UPI): The UN Security Council has
unanimously extended until October 15 the UN
peacekeeping force in Haiti, ordering it to "continue
the increased tempo of operations" in support of a
national police campaign against armed gangs to
restore security in crime-ridden areas of the capital,
Port-au-Prince.

Pentagon planning for Cuban exodus
MIAMI, USA (UPI): The Pentagon reportedly plans on
spending $18 million to prepare the US Navy base at
Guantanamo Bay to harbour Cubans migrants. The
expenditure would be made in anticipation of a mass

currency bills to bolster Venezuelans' perception of a
